Ministries and Departments

Want to get more involved? Here at BT we offer numerous opportunities for people to serve others, both in the church and in the local community. Jesus spent His entire life on earth serving others, and since His life is the perfect example of how we should live, we believe that it is our responsibility to do the same.

Check out our areas of ministry to serve below. For detailed information about our various serving opportunities, please submit a ministry application. A ministry leader will then contact you with more information about plugging into the ministry. We look forward to having you serve with us!

Children

Introduction

Children are a blessing from the Lord, with this blessing also come responsibility. As stewards of God's children, parents are responsible for helping children grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. At Bethel Tabernacle we have a responsibility toward children too. We provide an environment in which children are safe, are taught at an age-appropriate level, and are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. We minister to the spiritual needs of our children through a children's ministry program.

Our Aims and Objectives

At RCCG Bethel Tabernacle we have an opportunity to expose our children to the Word of God at an early age. Proverbs 22:6

  • To teach the children the nature of Jesus Christ, for example they must be able to take instructions.

  • To create an atmosphere of fun whilst they learn about God and His love.

  • To impose spiritual discipline; the existence of the knowledge of God, respect for the parents, elderly, and the human race.

  • To inspire them to read and come to know the Bible.

  • To equip them with the knowledge they need in order to live successful Godly lives by the word of God.

  • To evangelise to children in their locality so that they will be able to invest into the future of the Church, Community and Country as a whole.

  • To know and accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.

  • To raise and equip children to know and appreciate their identity in Christ.

  • To motivate children to recognise God’s purpose for their lives and to help them achieve it.

  • To develop future leaders.

  • To make disciples of them and teach them how to win souls for Christ.

  • To provide opportunities for participating in true Christian fellowship.

  • To teach them how to worship and praise God thereby building their spiritual, social and emotional life.

Our Vision

1.Joining hands with families to reach and teach children that loving Jesus is fun, supporting them in such a way that they have the opportunity to be disciples and followers of Christ. We realise that every child needs love, acceptance and recognition. For some children the Children’s Ministry might be the only place where these feelings can be experienced.

In addition to our primary aim, we are also working towards 3 key objectives:

  1. BELONGING: We ensure that the children feel welcome and that they experience God's love for them (especially new children). We want them to belong.

  2. BELIEVING: We ensure that the children have an encounter with the Lord, experience intimacy with Him and develop a practical relationship with Him. We want them to believe.

  3. BEHAVING:We ensure that the children get to know God's word thoroughly. Then they will serve and obey Him for the rest of their lives. We want them to behave in such a way that everybody can see that they belong to Jesus Christ.

At Bethel Tabernacle Children’s Ministry we make sure that every child:

  • Has the opportunity to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour.

  • Gains Bible knowledge:

  • Knows the Word.

  • Believes the Word.

  • Does the Word.

  • Experiences a Spirit filled life:

  • Has the opportunity to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

  • Learns to live a Spirit filled life.

  • Grows spiritually.

Bethel Children Church has the following Age Groups:

Our Groups:

Light of the World Matt: 5:14 (2yrs to 4yrs)

The younger children receive bible-based learning presented through story-telling, songs, rhymes and games, colouring and fun activities within a secure, warm and loving environment. Bible stories are taught in ways that engage and captivate their imagination.

God’s Heritage Palms 127:3 (5yrs to 8yrs)

In this group, they are taught biblical principles and truths through role-play, games, word puzzles. We emphasize scripture and children are encouraged to pray and read their bibles daily and memorize bible verses.

Chosen Generation 1 Peter 2:9 (9yrs to 15yrs)

A more interactive and relational teaching is used for our Teenagers (13 and above). They are encouraged to share their views and thoughts on real-life situations; led by the Holy Spirit, they are guided on ways to apply biblical principles to their lives.

At this stage of their Christian development, they are   encouraged to become more involved in the adult Church but within this group in which they identify with each other.  Adult mentor relationships are also encouraged to nurture them in biblical ways in all aspects of their lives which includes education, health, and making right choices.

In total we have about 50 children.
